Permanent Aluminum Can Plant Markers

Most of the plant makers you can buy will not stand up to the sun and the outside elements.
Plastic markers will fade and most metal markers will rust. Aluminum markers are a permanent solution to marking your plants.

Supplies needed are cans, scissors, a pen, something impressionable to write on, galvanized wire and a hole punch.

Use the scissors to cut off the bottom and top of the can.

Then cut around the edges of the aluminum so you don't have rough edges. Then cut longways through the middle of the sheet and then cut each piece longways again. You will have 4 long pieces and you can cut those in half and you will have 8 markers

Use the hole punch to punch a hole in each plant marker.

You can write the name of the plant on either side of the tag. You will want to write on a impressionable surface so when you write on the tag it indents easier.

If you want the writing to protrude outwards then you will want to write backwards on the side of the aluminum with the printing on it. A simple way to write backwards is to write the plants name on a piece of paper and turn the paper over and trace the name of the plant on side of the tag with the printing on it.

Galvanized wire works great for the markers since it wont rust and fall off the maker.
